State awards $250M contract to overhaul Longfellow Bridge

BOSTON (WHDH) -- The state has awarded a more than $250 million contract to overhaul the Longfellow Bridge connecting Boston and Cambridge.
It’s part of a major bridge overhaul in the state.
According to the Globe, the I-95 Whittier Bridge over the Merrimack River will be replaced.
Several other bridges will be upgraded.
Construction is expected to start in the spring.
