CHELSEA, Mass. (WHDH) -- Police in Chelsea are looking for a suspect who is robbing cab drivers at gunpoint. The man flags the taxis down and when they arrive at the destination, he takes out a gun and demands money.

Just in the last week at least four drivers were robbed -- most of them working for Ventura Taxi.

Owner Jose Ventura says at least two suspects would flag one of his cabs down, get in, start a conversation with the driver and then when they get to their stop they demand all the money.

They say, ‘Okay,’ put the gun, They say, ‘Don't move. Give me everything,’” said Jose Ventura, Ventura Taxi.

Ventura says one driver was hurt when he fought back. The suspects all got away.

Police increased patrols overnight, but Ventura wanted to do more to keep his workers safe.

Passengers in Ventura Taxis now can't get to the drivers. He installed glass barriers. Those types of partitions are required in Boston, but not in Chelsea. It cost Ventura several thousand dollars to do it, but his drivers say they feel much safer.

“Now we feel better with that division over here,” a taxi driver said.

Police are still investigating the robberies. They are working to alert all taxi drivers in the city to what's been happening. They caution all taxi drivers to always be safe.
