Tufts patient searching for man who rescued her
BOSTON (WHDH) -- According to an official at Tufts Medical Center, a female patient is looking for a Sgt. Tyler who picked her up and carried her to safety.
In the frantic moments after the attack, many jumped into action to help the injured. But one man, a wounded war veteran, understood the true pain they were going through.
He helped to calm down Victoria McGrath, a Northeastern student injured in the blast. But McGrath only caught her hero's first name.
"His name is Tyler. That’s all we know…And one of the things he said to her to calm her down was to show her his own shrapnel -- a scar from his own shrapnel wound from when he was in Afghanistan. Victoria very, very much wants to thank Tyler personally,” Governor Deval Patrick said at a news conference. "So if Tyler is out there and listening and reading your reports, we would love to hear from Tyler so that we can connect him to Victoria.”
