Officer, man shot after shootout in South Boston
BOSTON (WHDH) -- A Boston police officer and another man are recovering from a shootout in South Boston.
People in the area reported a man walking around with a gun around 9 p.m. Wednesday. When police arrived, the man started shooting at them. The gunfire wounded one officer.
Police returned fire and took the man down.
The man, in his 50s, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The incident happened on the corner of East 8th Street and Old Harbor Street.
