Leukemia patient has one wish: meet Taylor Swift
BOSTON (WHDH) -- At 14 years old, Anna Jerome is a huge Taylor Swift fan.
“She doesn’t just sing, she performs,” said Jerome.
But when she was shockingly diagnosed with Leukemia a couple weeks ago, many of her summer plans fell through.
“I was going to go to her concert, but I’m stuck here,” she said.
She’s gone to her concerts before but in an effort to boost Anna’s spirits, her friends and family took to Twitter. They tweeted to Swift herself with the hash tag, #TaylorMeetAnna.
“They called me screaming that it’s trending,” said Jerome.
Mayor Menino even tweeted, “@TaylorSwift13, our resident Anna-- your biggest fan, can’t attend Red after leukemia diagnosis. I hope you 2 can connect. #TaylorMeetAnna.”
Swift is performing two nights in a row in the Bay State. Jerome’s family and friends hope the superstar can make sometime to meet one of her biggest fans.
“This is a tough thing for Anna to go through. Anything positive would benefit her,” said her mother, Kris.
Jerome’s twin brother, Will, is on board as well.
“If Taylor Swift came in here, oh I’d propose,” he said.
But he just hopes his sister’s dream comes true.
“She loves Taylor Swift and she just hopes she comes,” he said.
But no matter what, and through it all, she’s kept a positive attitude.
“She’s always been an amazing kid and this just reinforces that,” said her father.
If you want to help out, tweet #TaylorMeetAnna.
