Pigeon perches on teacher's head for hours
EAST BOSTON, Mass. (WHDH) -- An East Boston school was buzzing Tuesday after an unusual sight when a pigeon landed right on top of a teacher's head and made itself right at home.
The pigeon stayed put on the man's head for two hours.
“The kids went wild. They were laughing, pointing, calling me the birdman. They were saying it was my girlfriend,” said Ivan Dasilva, who had the pigeon on his head.
The bird swooped in Monday morning while Mr. Dasilva was teaching gym class at O'Donnell Elementary School in East Boston.
Hours later someone helped Dasilva swat the bird away. However, when he went back outside the bird flew right back.
“Lo and behold the bird shows up again and hops on his head again,” said Sura O'Mard, O'Donnell Elementary Principal.
This teacher said he doesn’t need a pet.
“I couldn't sleep last night. I felt like the bird was on my head when I went to sleep. It's not a way to live,” Dasilva said.
Now one day later the pigeon hasn't come back to visit.
