BOSTON -- Tedy Bruschi attended the Health and Fitness Expo with an important message about knowing the warning signs of a stroke.

“When I was having a stroke, I didn’t know I was having a stroke, so I’m trying to promote the warning signs of a stroke and trying to educate the public, particularly the younger public that it is possible, and you should really do what you can to put yourself in the best possible health you can. If anything were to happen you could rehabilitate yourself to the best of your abilities,” said former Patriots linebacker, Tedy Bruschi.

According to Tedy, it is crucial to have a game plan in place for your family as well.

“You also have a family, and they are going through the same thing, and that your family is also educated on what you’re going through and your family has dialogue with your therapist, or your doctor because you have loved ones that really care about what you’re going through and they need to know, themselves, how you’re doing,” said Bruschi.

Bruschi took the time to meet his young fans and give them a few pointers.

“It was one of my dreams to be able to meet Tedy Bruschi,” said a fan.

It is never too early to get the early to get the message out about what people need to know about early warnings signs of suffering a stroke.

Bruschi suffered a mild stroke in February of 2005, and once he recovered he founded Tedy’s Team, which raises money and awareness for stroke research.
