BOSTON -- A woman was arrested for attacking a pregnant woman at the Forest Hills MBTA Station in Jamaica Plain on Monday.

Kiara Webb, 20, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon for attacking 20-year-old Melissa Young, who is pregnant.

“The whole time I was stating I’m pregnant. I’m five months pregnant” said Young.

Young said the woman was yelling, telling people to get out of her way, and not to go through “her” turnstile.

“Her and her friends were like pushing through the crowd, and she was trying to get through the same turnstile that I was getting out of. And I said, ‘Maybe you should just wait for people,’” said Young.

Young said she and Webb had a brief argument.

“I knew from the look on her face that she was gonna hit me,” said Young.

Young said Webb hit her once in the head with a closed fist, and once with her purse.

“She did state to the officers that she did do it, and she wished she had done more, and she was proud she did it,” said Lt. Michael Shea of the MBTA Police.

Young said she was glad the suspect was arrested, but she really just wants an apology.

"I couldn't even think about hitting her back, because the only thing that I was thinking about was the life of my child, and how my child is in danger," said Young.

Webb is currently out on bail.
