Report: Obama aunt granted asylum after info leak

BOSTON -- An immigration judge gave asylum in the U.S. to President Barack Obama’s aunt because of leaked information, according to a report.

The Boston Globe says asylum was granted to Zeituni Onyango because an anonymous federal administration official leaked information to the media about her immigration status.

He says that put her at great risk for persecution in her native Kenya.

The judge also called the leak a reckless and illegal violation of her right to privacy.
