Fan hurt in fall at Fenway Park

BOSTON -- A fan fell 14 feet during the Angels-Red Sox game at Fenway Park on Wednesday night.
The man fell near Gate B.
Witnesses said the man was unconscious after the fall, and was lying in a pool of blood. They said he had cuts on his face and was taken away from the scene on a stretcher with a neck brace on.
He was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with head and neck injuries.
Police interviewed witnesses at the scene and crews moved in to clean up the mess.
“Yeah it was right behind us. We didn’t know if he fell from the very top or he fell from the stairway, but they kept looking up,” said one fan.
“(He) had blood on his eye, of course…it looked like he was hit by a foul ball, but he had fallen down the steps,” said another fan.
There was no word as to the extent of his injuries as of Thursday morning.
The game continued, and the Red Sox beat the Angels 7-5.
