Officer, suspect shot and killed in Woburn

WOBURN, Mass. -- A police officer was shot and killed while responding to an armed robbery.
Woburn police officer John “Jack” Maguire was killed. One suspect was also shot and killed on Sunday night at Kohl's department store on Washington Street in Woburn.
Police said three men tried to rob the store around closing time. Officers arrived and a gunfight broke out, leaving the officer and suspect dead.
Scott Hanwright, 19, of Wakefield is being charged with first degree murder and armed robbery. Kevin Dingwell, 51, of Wakefield is charged with accessory after the fact. They will be arraigned Monday in Woburn District Court.
A third suspect who has not been identified was fatally shot after he had allegedly shot one of the responding officers.
