'Tree pods' to green up downtown Boston

BOSTON -- A new green project is taking root in downtown Boston.

Teams at “Shift Boston” have designed what they call “Tree-pods.”

The environmentally friendly creations are made from recycled plastic and work just like real trees to absorb carbon dioxide.

Solar panels on its branches would create enough energy to light up at night.
