Man uses crossword puzzle to propose

BOSTON -- A crossword puzzle helps a man propose to his girlfriend.

Rob Gubler and Kiara Graffio were in Boston on vacation from California.

Gubler said he had the idea to propose to Kiara by putting a one-of-a-kind advertisement in the Boston Globe - crossword puzzle clues led to the big question.

“I noticed that the clues were very specific to us. At the end it said to circle some of the clues and it spelled out ‘Kiara will you marry me.’ So I was completely taken by surprise. I didn’t expect it. I thought it was so romantic,” said Graffio.

The couple celebrated their engagement by going out to dinner on Wednesday night.

They will continue their vacation with stops in New York and Washington DC.
