Police: Shot fired in troopers' direction in Medford

MEDFORD, Mass. -- State police are searching for a car involved in a drive-by shooting in Medford.
Massachusetts State Police troopers were positioned along the northbound lanes of I-93 near Route 60 in Medford around 1 a.m. Saturday when police say a small, four-door sedan passed by. As the driver passed the troopers’ detail location, the officers said they saw a flash and heard a gun discharge.
Police said the suspect appeared to fire one round in the troopers’ direction. Police were unable to stop the vehicle because of the traffic.
The gunshot did not hit anything or anyone, according to police.
State police are continuing to investigate.
