Police arrest naked man in Dorchester
DORCHESTER, Mass. -- It was a strange sight in Dorchester when police arrested a man - naked.
A suspect wearing nothing but his socks was caught hiding under a deck in Dorchester. Police wrapped the naked man in a tablecloth and quickly ushered him into a patrol car.
“Oh yeah, he was naked,” said Bobby Allen. “He was wrapped up in my damn tablecloth so he was naked - yes he was.”
The foot chase started on Tucker Street just before 6 p.m. Witnesses say police pulled over the suspect’s car there, and residents just coming home from work watched the man take off towards the railroad tracks.
“I just rushed to get my kids inside,” said Lissette Gauthaer.
The man hopped a fence and crossed the railroad tracks, leaving many to wonder when and why he lost his clothes.
“That’s what I’m trying to find out - why was the guy naked?” said Allen.
The area around the train tracks was full of barbed wire, and that’s where his clothes may have gotten caught.
One resident on Whitman Street who asked not to be on camera says he saw police searching yards so he walked closer to see what was going on and that’s when he saw the naked man standing in his grandmother’s driveway.
“He’s looking right at me and he does not have a stitch of clothes on. He shook his head at me…and then he jumped another fence and then he jumped two more fences and he hid under the porch next to my house,” said the witness.
The suspect’s hiding place was soon exposed…and so was he.
“He’s got my tablecloth. I want my tablecloth back,” said Allen.
At this point no names have been released. It is not known what that man will be charged with at this time.
