Wahlberg talks Bulger on his visit to Boston

BOSTON -- Mark Wahlberg was back in Boston on Friday. The Dorchester native played host to his first annual celebrity golf tournament, which raises money for charity.
Friday’s red carpet event was held at Tasty Burger near Fenway Park.
Wahlberg starred in the movie The Departed with Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio. Jack Nicholson's character was based on Whitey Bulger, who was captured Wednesday.
“Whitey didn’t like the portrayal of Jack and he was probably 10 minutes away from Jack’s house - five, 10 minutes away from where Jack and I play golf,” said Wahlberg of Bulger living in Santa Monica for the last 15 years.
Wahlberg was not surprised at the attention the arrest of Bulger is creating around the country.
“I was surprised, but then again I wasn’t. It’s pretty coincidental after the whole FBI - their campaign,” said Wahlberg.
