Man describes encounter with Bulger

BOSTON -- A man who had a brush with James “Whitey” Bulger as a teen is now speaking out.

South Boston resident John Heaney says his friend was driving when they accidentally hit the mobster's parked car.

After haggling over who would fess up, they found Bulger to be unfazed.

"He looked at damage large crease pretty bad and he said don't worry about I know kids who would have taken off and we said are you sure - he said you guys are good kids and that was it."

That was his only interaction with Bulger. He was relieved it ended peacefully.
