3 people found dead in Waltham apartment
WALTHAM, Mass. -- Three people were found dead in a Waltham apartment on Monday afternoon.
Officials were not revealing who died in the apartment, but neighbors said a group of men and women in their 20s lived in the unit.
The apartment on Harding Avenue was described as a blood bath.
“There was blood everywhere,” said a man, who lives next to the second-floor apartment.
A young woman, one of the victim’s girlfriends, discovered the three bodies on Monday afternoon. At 2:30 p.m. police arrived at a Harding Avenue apartment.
“There was a girl running out of the house saying, ‘There’s blood everywhere,’ There’s marijuana all over the bodies, apparently,” said a neighbor.
Investigators said it was gruesome.
“There went to the second floor and saw a very graphic crime scene. There were three dead bodies in the apartment,” said Gerry Leone, Middlesex County District Attorney.
Leone would not say how the victims died. He only said that the crime was not random.
“We have no evidence of a break in the apartment and we have other…that the assailants were known to each other,” said Leone. “We know there are at least two people who are not in that apartment now who were there earlier.”
With at least two assailants likely at large, neighbors are on edge.
“Definitely a little nervous, make sure my doors are all locked and my kids are all accounted for,” said one Waltham resident.
“To me they were perfectly fine people. This has completely taken everyone by surprise,” said one neighbor.
The DA said they may have more information later Monday night or Tuesday morning. Officials were still on the scene on Monday trying to figure out what happened.
