Hundreds ring in New Year with Polar Plunge

BOSTON -- A frosty New Year's tradition took place in Boston over the weekend.
Six hundred people ran into chilly Boston Harbor Sunday for the annual L Street Brownies’ New Year’s Day Swim.
Relatively speaking, they had it easy this year: air and water temps were pretty mild.
The water was still only 43 degrees.
Many participants use the polar plunge as a way to raise money for charity.
