BOSTON -- The competition is heating up ahead of the Super Bowl among tenants of a South Boston apartment complex.

The tenants of the Park Lane Seaport Apartments in South Boston are encouraged by management to dress up their windows for the Super Bowl.

“We’re running a contest for all of our residents here to decorate their windows with their favorite NFL team,” said Robyn Agostino, the apartment manager. “You can hang up lights, pictures, shirts, jerseys…”

“I’m a Pats fan, so it’s going to have to do with a lot of Patriots stuff and a lot of Giants going down on the window,” said Nikhil Saini, a tenant.

The winner gets $1,000 off next month’s rent.

“We are determined to win this,” said Ginger Gainer, who says she’s ordered several items to dress up her windows. “Absolutely. We went to town on this. I have three flags coming in. I have star spangled lights coming in. My inflatable Patriots football player -- we test ran him last night. He’s working to keep the blinds closed so the neighbors won’t see us just yet.”

One tenant said she won’t be joining the competition.

“I’m a Pittsburgh Steelers fan,” said Jennifer Breese-Vipelli.

7News was told that there are numerous New York Giants fans living in the apartments. One of them expressed caution about showing his true colors.

“HE lives on one of the lower floors and he asked me who was going to clean the eggs off his windows when he hung up all of his Giants gear. I told him we’d take care of it,” said Agostino.

The judging will take place on Friday. Management insists the judge will be someone who is neutral and not from New England or New York.
