BOSTON -- A Boston police officer is being hailed as a hero for catching a woman who tumbled off a second-floor roof in Dorchester.

The woman was threatening to jump off the roof of the building on Wilbert Road.

Officer Robert Robichaud was one of the officers who responded to the call.

Robichaud was below the woman when she leaned forward and fell.

"I just saw her lean forward head first, she was coming down -- I just happened to be right below her,” he said.  “I just threw, basically, I threw myself under her so, just to kinda like break her fall."

Robichaud said the woman was 10 to 12 feet up when she fell.

He went to the hospital with a strained shoulder but is OK.

The woman was taken to the hospital and released.
