Ex-RI Rep. Kennedy heads home with new baby
POMONA, N.J. (AP) -- Former Rhode Island U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy and his wife, Amy Petitgout, have left the hospital for home with the newest addition to the family.
Kennedy and Petitgout left a Pomona, N.J., medical center Tuesday morning with Owen Patrick Kennedy, who was born on Sunday at 5:30 p.m., weighing 6 pounds, 15 ounces.
Patrick Kennedy, the son of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, married Petitgout in July. Petitgout is a middle school teacher from Brigantine, N.J., and has a young daughter, Harper, from a previous marriage. Harper accompanied the family as well.
The Arc of Atlantic County, which serves people with Down syndrome, presented Owen with a one-piece outfit before his departure. Kennedy and Petitgout met at an Arc tribute dinner in 2010.
