Baby taken from Roxbury home found safe

ROXBURY, Mass. (WHDH) -- Police said an 8-month-old boy was taken from his Roxbury home while his babysitter was asleep on Tuesday. The baby was found safe shortly after.
The child was brought to Boston Medical Center to be checked out and then returned to his mother.
The 25-year-old woman, who is accused of taking the baby from a home at 18 Dixwell Street in Roxbury, was taken into custody on Tuesday.
The suspect showed up at Academy Homes with the baby. Police then searched Academy homes, but the baby was found a short time later on Weaver Street.
The suspect was legally barred from Academy Homes prior to this incident.
Her connection with the child or the child’s mother is still unclear. Sources told 7News that the suspect has psychiatric issues and has done something like this before.
Police continue to investigate this incident.
