BOSTON (WHDH) -- A coyote was spotted walking down Hanover Street in Boston’s North End on Sunday.
“Yeah, that’s not too comforting. It’s kind of unusual to see that with the big city life, you know,” said Amy Richards, who is visiting Boston.
Witnesses claim a coyote was running down the street towards the water Sunday morning.
The sight was the last thing visitors to the popular tourist area would expect.
“If it’s still around here it would be kind of frightening. There’s a lot of people and people could be feeding it,” said Luis Smith, who was visiting Boston.
This isn’t the first time a wild animal was spotted roaming Boston. Last month a coyote was seen in Chinatown and video cameras captured it running through the Ted Williams Tunnel and into the Financial District. Animal Control officers eventually cornered the animal.
For now, pet owners in the area plan to be careful.
“I have my dogs on a leash and I’m with them all the time. I don’t let them out of my sight…but I do know other people that do and I would be concerned if that was me,” said Peter Boyle, who is concerned about the coyotes.
There are no reports that the coyote tried to approach any hums while it was running through town.
