BOSTON (WHDH) -- A mother and her 18-month-old child were rescued Saturday afternoon after they became trapped when their car flipped on its side.
A man smashed the windshield with his bare hands and pulled them out. Mother and child were not injured.
“Whenever you see a car not on all four wheels, it’s shocking,” said Jeremy Dolan, a witness. “I see three people on the ground -- blood all over the ground.”
Dolan said a man smashed the windshield with his bare hands to get the woman and her child out.
“Came over and punched the windshield out and tried to get the lady from the inside of the car out. Nobody knew if she was pinned, she wasn’t responding to any questions or anything,” Dolan said.
Dolan believes the man knew the victims and had just been dropped off by the woman moments before the car flipped.
It’s not clear how the accident occurred, but authorities said a taxi cab was somehow involved.
“It seemed like everything was alright. It’s crazy, I mean, motor-vehicle accidents are scary enough on their own, but when you throw young kids involved, it gets hairy,” Dolan said.
Mother and child -- along with the cab driver involved -- were transported to the hospital, but are fine.
Charges have not been filed.
