Storms to move west to east Friday evening

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible late Friday afternoon into Friday evening.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop across southern New England by mid afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. A few thunderstorms may become severe and have damaging winds.

Storms will develop by 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and move east by early evening.
