BOSTON (WHDH) -- New video of the fight that led to the murder of a local army veteran has been released and police hope it will lead to an arrest.
The April 28 fight happened in Boston’s Theatre District back in April. Now investigators want the public to get a closer look at the suspect they're looking for.
The cell phone video shows the brawl that took place moments before the deadly shooting of 22-year-old Stephen Perez of Revere.
Police say 23-year-old Peter Castillo of Salem pulled the trigger.
Perez, who had just returned from serving in Afghanistan, was out with friends in Boston’s Theater District in April when police say they were confronted in a parking lot.
Police say Perez is shown in the video wearing a blue shirt trying to protect his friends, and at one point he takes his shirt off.
Police say in other surveillance video Castillo appears to tuck a hand gun in his pocket as he comes through the parking lot. He enters the fray and police say Castillo later shoots Perez in the back.
"The family is hoping this video will bring more exposure to the case itself and somehow help apprehend Peter Castillo," said Rob Marston, Perez's cousin.
Police have issued a first degree murder warrant for Castillo but they say he fled to the Dominican Republic and is still at large.
Police released the newly acquired cell phone video hoping someone who knows something will come forward.
