Local researchers help create robotic worm

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Researchers at MIT, Harvard and a South Korean university have created a robotic worm.
The device, called a mesh worm, is a mesh tube wrapped in wires. A small current makes the tube contract and expand, giving it its worm-like movement.
Researchers say the worm could be useful in finding victims following natural disasters because it could squeeze through small spaces in debris.
