Open MBTA gates giving T-riders free rides

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Some T-riders in Jamaica Plain, have been getting a free ride for at least a month and a half!
A viewer sent us this picture of an open gate at the Jackson Square Orange Line Station.
They said the gate has been standing open all day, making it a target for people looking to skip paying their fares.
An MBTA spokesperson said the gate was repaired this afternoon.
This isn't the first time the MBTA has had problems with fare gates.
The same gate issue happened at Haymarket Station this week.
T-officials said that gate problem was due to intermittent mechanical problems and has since been fixed.
