Menino doesn't want casino built in phases

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Mayor Menino says he does not support Suffolk Downs' plan to build a billion dollar casino in phases.

Suffolk Downs wants to begin the process by first adding slot machines.

According to the Globe, the mayor wants a complete resort casino in order to enhance economic development in Boston.

MGM Resorts International will reveal its development plans for a casino in Western Massachusetts on Wednesday.

The unveiling  will take place at the Massachusetts Mutual Convention Center in Springfield.

The company said it will unveil artist renderings for the proposed complex.
