MBTA hires first female ever to head the MBTA

BOSTON (WHDH) -- The MBTA hired a new general manager.
The search committee spent a year screening more than 100 candidates.
They’ve selected Beverly Scott, the first female ever, to head the MBTA.
She previously worked for the transit system in Atlanta, and several others across the country.
She officially starts December 15th.
