19-year-old accused of killing gf, requests new lawyer

BOSTON (WHDH) -- A Wayland man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend is requesting a new lawyer.

19-year-old Nathanial Fujita told a judge that he isn't comfortable having his privately hired counsel represent him.

Fujita is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend, Lauren Astley, in 2011.

Astley's body was found in a swampy area in Wayland.

Coroners say she was strangled with a bungee cord and had her throat slashed.
