BOSTON (WHDH) -- A woman walked off the platform at the Kendall Square MBTA station in Cambridge Sunday.
The woman’s husband and several other passengers helped get her off the tracks.
Video shows the woman walking close to the edge of the platform when she steps backwards and tumbles onto the tracks.
“I heard some screams by the entrance and I look over and there’s a woman just crumpled on the ground, on the tracks,” said Elise Tyson, who witnessed the fall.
Tyson had just walked into the Kendall Square ‘T’ station.
“People just jumped into the tracks and save her. It was incredible,” said Tyson.
The woman did not touch the third rail and a train was not approaching.
The 54-year-old woman who was visiting from Minnesota was knocked out, but by the time she was brought onto the platform she was talking. She was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital to be evaluated.
“I was completely amazed by their courage,” said Tyson.
