BOSTON (WHDH) -- Massachusetts authorities are stepping up their efforts to catch drivers who text and drive.

The state recently received a $275,000 grant to help figure out the best way to catch drivers who are texting.

One idea is to sit on overpasses to be able to see what drivers are actually doing.

“I think they should honestly, I still see it all the time they're texting and driving and I get mad ‘cause they're not paying attention,” said Keena Relf, a Revere resident.

“Honestly, that's the best thing to happen because it will save a lot of lives,” said Soleil Diakabana, who approves of the grant.

Connecticut also got a grant. The two states will test out new ideas... For two years.
