Superstorm in Massachusetts at a glance

BOSTON (AP) -- A look at storm effects in Massachusetts a day after Sandy:

-- About 230,000 without power as of mid-afternoon Tuesday, down from about 400,000 at height of storm Monday.

-- Gov. Deval Patrick said damage assessment teams have found no serious infrastructure damage, though individual homes and businesses have had some damage, and trees have been downed.

-- Many schools remained closed Monday, but Boston schools were open.

-- Governor said 161 people stayed in shelters statewide on Monday night, most expected to leave Tuesday.

-- Massachusetts National Guard sent two helicopters to New Jersey and a few soldiers to Connecticut for storm assistance.

-- Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority restored most service Tuesday, is prepared to offer restoration assistance to New York City.

-- Ferry service resumed to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.

-- No reports of runway damage at Boston's Logan International Airport, but commercial flight disruptions were expected to continue as a result of problems caused by the storm elsewhere along the East Coast.

-- Traditional Halloween celebration in Salem, Mass., expected to go on as scheduled Wednesday.
