BROOKLINE, Mass. (WHDH) -- A Brookline gas station was robbed by man armed with a pistol Thursday night.
“He put a gun to me and my sister, and said, ‘Give me the money.’ I was almost here just to turn that knob and he opened the door,” said Sajid Wahab, gas station attendant.
Sajid Wahab was closing up the gas station right before 10 Thursday night.
Surveillance video shows the reflection of his college-aged sister sitting in a chair waiting for a ride home. Suddenly, the armed robber rushes in; the envelope with the day's deposit in Wahab's hand falls.
“Because when he come I raise my hands up in the air and after the envelope was in my hand, the money in the envelope. So it drop on floor,” Wahab said.
The gunman threatened Wahab's sister then demanded more from the register.
He looked like he was about to leave but he turned and forced them to the back of the garage.
“Ii was thinking maybe the guy wanted to kill us. I didn't know,” Wahab said.
The gunman ran off with the cash and Wahab called police. He learned by looking at surveillance video that robber had been waiting outside the station for the right moment. But Wahab says he never would have been expecting that in Brookline.
Police describe the suspect to be in his late teens or early 20s.
