BOSTON (WHDH) -- One of Boston’s busiest MBTA stations is getting a major makeover.
Officials plan to renovate the Government Center station. The $90 million project includes updated platforms, new escalators and improved lighting. The MBTA also plans to get rid of the station’s entrance and put in a new glass building.
Officials anticipate starting the project next September. The station will be closed for two years.
The MBTA will hold a public meeting in a few weeks to discuss final plans for the project.
