Urban Outfitters catalogue causes stir

BOSTON (WHDH) -- The clothing company Urban Outfitters is offering some controversial products this Holiday season.
In the company’s catalogue, a girl is shown giving the middle finger -- it's one of many pictures in the catalogue 7News had to blur.
With the catalogue, you could buy your loved ones a cup with a curse word on it and then wrap it up in profanity-laced paper.
7News went down to Faneuil Hall and showed holiday shoppers part of the catalogue. The reaction was different among shoppers, but most people seemed to be concerned about the youngest generations being exposed to profanity.
“If my kid came home with that I would not exactly be pleased,” said one man.
“At this point, I’m not too concerned about it, ‘cause I probably wouldn't have it in my house,” a woman said.
It isn't the first time Urban Outfitters has stirred the pot with profanity. In the past they have used racy language and jokes about alcohol to promote their products to a younger demographic.
The catalogue has pushed the limit many times and parents worry about the products their kids see in stores and the pictures they see online.
The catalogues are not available in stores. To obtain one, shoppers must up online and have it mailed.
