WEST ROXBURY, Mass. (WHDH) -- Police say a woman robbed two banks in Boston Thursday.
The woman hit one of the banks in broad daylight in a busy section of West Roxbury.
Police say they are trying to confirm if the same woman is behind several bank robberies this week and that the FBI is also involved.
There was a heavy police presence at the bank branch which was closed for several hours as investigators studied the scene for evidence.
The bank, located on busy Centre Street, was hit in broad daylight reportedly by a lone woman.
“They were waving me away. It’s scary, I work right across the street,” said Carol Dolan, a bank customer.
Just a short time later, a Bank of America a little more than a mile away, was also robbed reportedly by a woman who got off an MBTA bus.
“There’s a lot of MBTA transportation that flows through here in all directions. She could have went in there and jumped back on the bus,” said Bertha Ramsey, who lives in the neighborhood.
Police in Milton are working with Boston police to see if the same woman robbed one of their banks on Monday.
7News learned of a third robbery that took place Thursday evening on Beacon Street.
The FBI is overseeing the investigation.
