Menino hopes to be home for Christmas

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Boston Mayor Thomas Menino said he hopes to be home for Christmas.

The Boston Globe said Menino wants to be released from the Spaulding Rehab Hospital by Sunday.

The mayor went to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in October. Doctors said he had an upper respiratory infection and a blood clot. He then suffered a spine fracture.

Menino has been in the rehab center since late November.
