Mayor Menino happy to spend birthday at City Hall

BOSTON (WHDH) -- After weeks in the hospital, Boston Mayor Tom Menino was back at work yesterday - but he still took time to celebrate his 70th birthday.

He tweeted a picture from his office, writing, “Spending my birthday the best way I know how -- in my chair at City Hall, working on our city.”

Menino was released from Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, on Sunday, after being treated for a variety of ailments including a viral infection, blood clot, and spine fracture.
