AG Coakley: Office will defend millions in utility fines

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley said her office will defend more than $24 million in fines.
The Department of Public Utilities fined NStar, National Grid and Western Massachusetts Electric Company for their responses to Tropical Storm Irene and an October snowstorm last year.
Hundreds of thousands of customers lost electricity and many waited longer than a week for power after each storm.
