Whitey Bulger lawyers want to call judge as witness

BOSTON (WHDH) -- Defense attorneys said they want to call the judge assigned to the case as a witness during Bulger's murder trial.

Bulger's lawyers have already called for Judge Richard Sterns to step aside.

They said his prior connections to the Department of Defense and the FBI may be a conflict of interest.

Bulger is charged with 19 murders.

His trial is set to begin in June.
