UNDATED (WHDH) -- Even if you're completely prepared for the storm, something could go wrong. So what if that happens? 7’s Susan Tran has some tips on how you can stay safe.

If you lose power, have that flashlight and crank radio so you can stay informed.

Try to keep your fridge doors closed. To prepare, you should put the settings at its lowest temperatures. If you do that, your food should stay cold in the fridge for 24 hours, and the freezer for 48.

Your water supply could be affected, so fill spare containers with water.

What if you’re stuck in your car during this storm?

“You want to make sure you have an emergency kit with you and that should contain everything from jumper cables, to water, to blankets, to snacks, to flares and by all means stay in your car, fasten your seatbelt, call for help” said Mary Maguire, AAA spokesperson.

Make sure snow isn't covering your exhaust pipe. Crack open a window for ventilation. Run your engine for 10 minutes every hour to maintain heat.

And what if your heat goes out, and you have a frozen pipe that bursts?

Experts say you need to turn off the main shut off valve inside the house then immediately call a plumber.

You can try to thaw a frozen pipe by using a hair drying at a low setting if you're not in standing water.
