BOSTON -- Police are looking into whether four recent bank robberies in the Brookline area are connected.

Two men are believed to be responsible for the four robberies. Brookline Police have teamed up with the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force to help solve the recent cases.

"As far as the Brookline Police response to these incidents, we've beefed up patrols in the vicinities of all the banks," said Lt. Phillip Harrington of the Brookline Police Department.

Area banks were robbed four times in November, beginning when the University Credit Union on Commonwealth Avenue was robbed the night of Nov. 10.

Nearly two weeks later, Brookline Bank on Beacon Street was robbed on Nov. 23 and on Nov. 27. Finally, on Nov. 30, a Citizens Bank on Harvard Street in Brookline was also hit.

They said they are investigating all four robberies because they suspect the men may strike additional banks in the area again soon.
