BOSTON -- State and federal authorities have seized 200 pounds of cocaine from a passenger flight at Boston's Logan International Airport.

State Police spokesman David Procopio said Friday the illegal drugs were seized Wednesday just after the flight landed.

Procopio declined to identify the flight or say where it departed. He said no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Procopio said a joint task force of State Police and federal agencies were involved in the seizure -- one of the largest in the state in recent years.

Airport officials said the cocaine was found in the belly of the plane, inside duffel bags.

Passengers and authorities Friday questioned how the cocaine, whose street value is estimated at $13 million,  made it on the plane.

“They screen everything. They’ll take nail clippers off of you, any of that kind of stuff,” one passenger said.

The investigation is ongoing, but passengers said they are concerned.

“I think where there’s a will, there’s a way for a lot of things…There’s pretty sharp people out there on both sides,” said a passenger.

American Airlines said they are working closely with authorities on the case.
