Committee rejects bill to limit movie tax breaks

BOSTON -- A legislative committee unanimously shot down a bill that would have greatly limited tax breaks for the movie industry in Massachusetts.
Lawmakers said the bill would have hurt a rising local film industry that has brought big stars, jobs, and money to the state.
Critics argued that the credits do not bring in enough business to justify the cost.
Gov. Patrick has recommended trimming the tax breaks to help with a tight budget.
