Brown endorses Baker for Mass. governor
BOSTON -- Sen. Scott Brown is urging his political supporters to back fellow Republican Charles Baker for governor.
Brown says Baker and running mate Richard Tisei "will bring real change to Beacon Hill and work to restore fiscal sanity to Massachusetts government."
He issued his endorsement in an automated telephone call over the weekend to 4,500 Republican convention delegates, activists and party supporters. They are meeting in Worcester on April 17 for their party convention.
Baker is battling convenience store magnate Christy Mihos for the GOP nomination.
Brown served with Tisei in the state Senate before winning an upset in January to replace the late Sen. Edward Kennedy.
