Is Whitey Bulger hiding out in Canada?
VICTORIA, British Columbia -- Some bookstores in Canada have been told to be on the lookout for Whitey Bulger.
Bulger, 80, is one of the FBI's Ten Most Wanted and is alleged to have played a role in 19 murders. He has been on the run for 15 years.
The FBI says Canada has always been of interest in the search for Bulger, because he had a safety deposit box there and was known to travel to Montreal.
People who work at bookstores in Victoria, British Columbia have now been asked to keep an eye out for him.
He was known to be an avid reader, which is why officials are targeting those businesses.
A Victoria bookstore manager says FBI agents stopped by last week to ask if he'd seen the man believed to be involved in 19 murders.
He's also believed to enjoy walks on the beach with his 59-year-old girlfriend, and the island has plenty of shoreline.
The FBI confirmed they've placed wanted posters in bookstores throughout Vancouver and Victoria in hopes to put an end to the 80-year-old's 15 years on the run.
They are still offering a $2 million reward for information leading to Bulger's capture.
