Ferry fender-bender in Hyannis

HYANNIS, Mass. -- It was a rough ride for some people going to Nantucket as two ferries collided on Sunday morning.

The two boats collided at the dock while passengers were waiting to leave.

The collision left a couple of big gashes on the hulls of the boats above the water line.

A witness described the scene.

“Well, we were waiting on the launch deck and the boat kind of slammed into one of the work boats here and it shook everybody up,” said Ralph Cooke, a witness.

The Coast Guard called the accident a minor incident and no one was hurt.
